SATYA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING:  Incorporating the elements of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha and Kundalini Yoga. Understanding the roots of the yoga practice will prepare you in creating your own dynamic Yoga class. This training will give you the tools you need to share what you have learned and make the world a better place. We will explore the many sides of yoga including meditation, breath work and postures. As well as go a few steps deeper into your knowledge of Yoga History and Philosophy.
This training is appropriate for:
*those who want to become teachers and have at least 2 years of practice history
*those who want to fine tune their teaching ability
*those who want to deepen their experience of the many facets of the yoga path
*The Curriculum will include:
*More advanced Asanas (posture), pranayama (breathing) and meditation techniques from a variety of traditions.
*History and tradition of yoga philosophy with study of ancient texts as well as more modern ones.
*Ayurveda (traditional Indian healing; The Science of Life)
*Kirtan (chanting)
*Adjustments and assists for all levels; Alignment, Bandhas and Breath;                              *Practice teaching
*Mythology of Indian gods and goddesses  and Indian Mysore painting
*The 10 subtle bodies in Kundalini Numerology, and the 5 Bodies in Hatha Yoga *Sequencing and structuring your class

*Each student will receive a full 300 hour certification with a certificate.
When: One or sometimes two weekends of each month from October 2017 to May 2018; Saturdays 9:00-6:00pm; Sundays 8:00-1:00;  Wednesday from 6:00-9:00pm (see below for exact dates)

*This will be a small program with between 4-8 students. Expect an intimate and deep experience as you explore the beautiful language of Yoga.

About Mary:
Mary Flinn (MFA, RYT E500 and Ayurveda consultant) has been teaching and living Yoga since 1995. She runs workshops on yoga practice and philosophy and leads Ayurvedic cleanses each season. She has run several yoga centers in NYC and Philadelphia including Mount Airy Yoga in Philadelphia, The Kundalini Yoga Center of NY and Satya Yoga Center in Brooklyn NY.  She has been blessed by the Late Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and his Grandson Sharath Rangaswami to teach the first and second series of Ashtanga Yoga. She continues to study Yoga philosophy and Pranayama with Dr. Shankaranarayan Jois in Mysore India. Mary has taught workshops and led retreats nationally and internationally in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Canada and was a guest teacher in Japan at the Tokyo Yoga conference in 2007.
The Farm:
Steeped in ancient Vedic tradition the Ancient Oaks Farm incorporates a fire meditation (Agni Hotra), every sunrise and sunset. The fire purifies the air and cleanses the atmosphere. Along with the Scottish Longhorn cows 2 acres of the land is used for organic farming. This creates a space that is very conducive for Yoga study.

Cost of Training:

$2950 if paid before the start date; $3200 if paid at the time of the training; $3400 if paid in installments over the course of the training. (Once committed to the program there is a no refund policy, the funds may be used towards a future training if possible)


Saturdays from 8:00-5:00 and Sundays 8:00-1:00: October 21&22 November 18&19; December 16&17; January 20& 21; February 17&18; March 10&11 and 24&25; April 7&8 and 21&22; May 5&6 and 19&20.

Wednesdays 6:00-9:00: October 25, November 1,8,15,29, December  6,13,20, 27 January 3,10,17,24,31 February 7,14,21,28 March 7,14,21,28, April 4,11,18,25, May 2,9,16

It is very important to be physically in each class as this is how I can help you the most with your practice but some Wednesday classes may be Skype classes and some makeup classes will be available on Periscope if you are unable to attend.
