ASHTANGA YOGA – 4 PART SERIES: Learning various aspects of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system can help to refine your understanding of the history and tradition of yoga. The 3 places of focus or attention are called Trishdana. They are Breath – Pranayama, Posture – Asana and Gaze – Drishti. Each class will give attention to the Trishdana to develop qualities of concentration and calm. BACKBENDS AND THE HEART CENTER
Chanting, breath work and flow yoga will be used to open the heart center and move energy through the body. An open Heart chakra is a balance of giving and receiving. it is the beginning of working into the higher realms of compassion, intuition and inspiration. CONNECTING WITH YOUR POWER ANIMAL USING YOGA, BREATHWORK AND DRUMMING: Using the practices of Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga and Shamanic drumming we will explore our unconscious to connect with our power animal. Entering into our archetypal life can give us messages and support from places we may not even be aware of. A fall cleanse is a wonderful way to detox and remove inflammation and heat accumulated during the summer months. In this course you will learn how to use foods, oils, and herbs to remove unwanted toxins and waste in the body. A Kitchari cleanse is a nutritious, whole food based diet that is adjusted to suit your unique constitution. Ayurveda uses diet, herbs and life-style adjustments to balance, rejuvenate and heal.
Workshop includes: A demonstration of how to make Kitchari, understanding your basic constitution and information on the many ways of healing and cleansing with Ayurveda.

Ashtanga Yoga Retreat at Ancient Oaks Homa Farm
Join me for a lovely 3 days at the Ancient Oaks Farm in Westminster Maryland. We invite you to explore the magic of the farm and join in on our daily Fire meditations at Sunrise and Sunset, Morning Mysore style self -practice, afternoon Kundalini Yoga and Sound Therapy with sound healer Patricia Norton, hikes to local reservoirs and or just hanging out in a hammock on the farm. Artists feel free to bring supplies to paint or draw as it is very inspiring. Breakfast, lunch and dinner (using the fresh organic vegetables from the farm) are also included .
We have lots of camping space and tents if you need to borrow one, but limited dorm and semi-private rooms. Rented on a first come basis.
